Borat - Our saviour

The movie of the year competition has ended 3 months early with Borat (5/5) running away with the prize and winning best comedy of the decade with 4 years to go. I suppose some people will hate it. If you are unsure here is a test. If you find this Borat quote funny - go see the movie: "you mean to tell me that the man who put the rubber fist up my ass last night was gay?".

Babel On

This guy is a wizard having made Y Tu Mama Tambien 4/5, a Harry Potter movie 3/5 and now a movie which is hard to characterize - Babel 4/5. It's three sories in one that seems to be about teen angst (Japan)terrorism and gun control (Morrocco) and immigration (Mexico). In the end, it seems to be about the importance of family and education. Each mini-movie had children in need (without mothers) and the bad effects of well intentioned ignorance. In the middle is a mystery about what Brad Pitt said on the phone to his maid as you hear two different versions. Also...what did the Japanese girl write in the note to the cop? Mysteries for no reason. Who cares? It's a great movie (nice job by Brad Pitt).
